The old rule was that you may take North and West but not visa versa.

Thks and regards

In April 2023, the last time that I crossed at Vioolsdrif, ie RSA to Namibia, there was a total prohibition : no meat, no veggies, no fruit, no dairy were allowed.

From Bots to Nam is normally not a problem. I've never been checked for food, or anything from memory.

The other way is normally a problem, as in they normally ask, and sometimes check when entering Bots. Many reports of having to cook things on the spot or loosing items at the borders.
(Bots doesn't seem to want you filling up everything outside of the country and not contributing to their economy when there as much as any health rational).

I've also been harassed by hungry looking officials at the vet fences on the main roads inside of Bots (and Nam) when crossing from north to south. The vet fence itself is badly maintained, huge holes along it with tyres marks going through them.... so yeah ;-)

I as a standard do not take raw meat across international border nor do I take raw meat north to south or south to north in Botswana. I think you will get the info off the internet. Raw meats are heavily controlled. And don’t bribe anyone you will be worse off if caught. Both countries have good beef, buy in their country make life easy
