Hi to anyone out there who still receives these emails.  This group is very inactive so I don't know how many "members" are still valid.

I received an email from Darcy Scharf (Stewart's daughter) who tells me Rick MacMillan is not well, however he is comfortable and doing OK. I thought you would like to know this since we haven't had any group communication in a long time.

Rick, if you get this, please know we are thinking of you and sending good vibes your way, even though it's been many years since we all went our separate ways in life. I still have good thoughts about old Ottawa Tech and the Band from time to time. (That's our band, not Robbie Robertsons, although they were pretty good too).

Cheers and Best Wishes,
Steve Fahie

Thankx Steve for the update on Rick. Unfortunately I think more messages of this type will be in our near future due to our progressive ages.
Regards to everyone and stay well.

Keep these emails coming guys! Any communication of any sort whether it's email or Zoom helps connect us all, who are friends for life through the band, to keep the contact alive. Best wishes to Rick and I hope he knows his friends are thinking of him and his Clarinet!

Thanks for sharing Steve. I agree with Sarge that we continue the group. Not much is said these days however health and wellbeing notes are always needed as we all age gracefully.  Thanks for keeping this exclusive group together.

Agree.  Keeping it going is free and not, I hope, too onerous for Steve.

To keep it interesting, we should all report on how we are ageing.  I realize that some will say “ none of your damn business !”  And I agree !

I’ll go first:  I’ve been dealing with bladder cancer for almost a year now !  Prognosis is good, but I’ve had
some interesting medical experiences along the way !  Some quite humorous !!

Anybody else dealing with this ?

I understand if my suggestion crashes in flames !

OK Pops, you opened the floodgates LOL…..

I’ve had some issues the past 6 months with internal bleeding that required transfusions and multiple tests. Endoscopy, colonoscopy and CT scans. The good news is  - there is no news such as cancer etc - the bad news is there is no answers as to why the bleeding. However, the past 2 months has seen a significant improvement of my hemoglobin levels. On top of that I required a doctors exam for my commercial driving license and completed a stress test. That didn’t go well and the subsequent angiogram showed 4 blocked arteries at about 100%. WOW, who would have thought. The end result will be open heart surgery on October 4th at Hamilton General. The General is considered one of the go-to places for heart related matters.

Other than that life is good and hopefully you all are doing good also.
