How many of us remember him ?  Pls send more details if you do

I was leafing through the Citizen  & saw this postage stamp pic in the Obits section.

Said to myself - that face is familiar !

I did not know him personally (he was before my time) but the name was familiar. His name does not appear on the 1962 album but it does appear among the names on the 1963 album among the clarinets.
