De Biere

Moin all,

In the chronicle of Tamme Gijsbers (1583-1651), the North-West part of Germany plays an important role Emde, Bunde, Tonningen, etc.). See for page 1 of the transcription of the chronicle https://kronieken.transkribus.eu/document/367602/pages/1

In two instances a location called 'Biere' is mentioned, probably close to Emden. 

1. 

"Anno 1605

3 Maij bin ick van Gronningen gereijst na Dantsich ende aldaer 6 jaren lang gebleven.

11 Octobr. is mijn L. moeder Ide Gijsbers op de Biere in Oostfrieslant gerustet ende tot Emden gebracht ende in een graff bij mijn Sal. vader begraven."

2. 

"1607

26 Septembr. is Arent broeders Sone Berent geboren op de Biere."

Probably Logabirum. From the German wiki 

Es wird u. a. vermutet, dass „Loghe“ oder „Loech“ aus dem Plattdeutschen oder Friesischen kommt und „Ortschaft/Ort/Dorf“ bedeutet. „Beerum“ oder „Berum“ aber Wald heißen soll, also Dorf am Wald.
