When I use Osmand's routing on roads, I instantly get a cross section of the elevation along any route that I enter, along with road steepness and other route data. If I switch to straight line routing, I get none of that information. When I am hiking, I like to use the straight line routing rather than sticking to roads, and when hiking off road, that slope and elevation information would be far more useful than when driving. Is this something that can be added?

Hello!
OsmAnd store data about elevation, slope, and steepness and other, only on roads, so all this data can be viewed only when the route was build on the roads.

Aha. I see. I was hoping there was an easy way to grab elevation data from the topo lines every time the straight line intersected them, but that's an entirely different way of doing things than the road data. As OsmAnd gets more elevation tools and perspective view, I'm sure more folks will want to use it as a hiking app, and so more of these kinds of hiking tools would be appreciated.
