"Loading data exception" is repeatedly shown whenever I try to plan a route on one of my devices.  It fails to calculate even any very short route.
It is running Osmand + 3.8.4 on Andoid 4.4.4.
Any suggestions?

I get that periodically on my phone, too, and do not have an explanation for it.  For me, it only happens occasionally, usually.  However, there was one time when it began happening 100% of the time on my test phone running the nightly build.  Even reinstalling the previous build didn't help.  I ended up powering off my phone, then rebooting, and that seemed to have cleared it. So, maybe that might help you?

Tried re-boot a few times already.  No joy.
I dont get nightly builds AFAIK.
Wondering whether it is an SD card issue, though the card is seen OK by other aps on the device.
Thanks, Jack, anyway.

Is it a specific map? Try removing it and downloading it again. And please note that it can also be a hillshade, wiki, contour lines or one of those other maps. That could be checked by temporarily disabling them.

Hello Harry
The map is a standard one downloaded via OsmAnd,  England SE.
I'll try the things you've outlined.
Thanks

Harry - I take my hat off to you (again) - You were spot on.
I disabled several maps, contours, etc.  Result = Route plotted OK.
Re-enabled them - Problem returned.
Methodical testing found the culprit.  The weird thing is, it was South West England, and the route was totally well within South East England.
Deleted and re-installed it. = Joy!
Thank you Harry.
