Marine names missing? (harbours, bays, islands, etc)

As I drive along a coastal highway I'd like to know which harbours I'm passing or which islands I can see off in the distance. Alas, I've not been able to find any such labels (in spite of the fact that they have been recorded in OpenStreetMap). Even when the Nautical plugin is activated, I still don't see such names.

• Are these labels not availble in OsmAnd?
  • if they are, how to I activate them?
  • if they aren't, why not? It seems an obvious feature to have.

I've now noticed that in certain areas, some of the labels are visible. In others, as noted, they're absent. I've looked at JOSM to analyse the differences but, I've been unable to determine why similar labels (for example: "X Cove" and "Y Cove") do not always appear.

• Any thoughts? Any solutions?

You can configure the POI filter to show the needed types of POI on the map. Also, you can try to download the "World Seamarks" map from Menu – Download Maps – Nautical Map.
