Hello there!
- What version of OsmAnd are you using, on what device?
OsmAnd~ 3.5.5 (F-Droid), oneplus 6 (microg lineage)
- Do you use the offline maps offered within the OsmAnd app for download, or online (tile / raster) maps?
- If you use offline maps, tell us the exact name of the map file where the routing issue occurs, and its edition date.
Offline: Baden-Württemberg Regierungsbezirk Stuttgart and Germany Baden-Württemberg: both v2019-12-01
- Tell us whether you have used OsmAnd's in-app offline
routing, or any online routing provider like YOURS, OpenRouteService or
OSRM.
- What routing profile is choosen in OsmAnd app (car, bike or pedestrian)?
In-app routing: Pedestrian (aka. Walking), default settings.
- Please specify as exactly as possible the start and end
point of your route. If possible, tell us city name and street name for
each. Also a Permalink from openstreetmap.org can be helpful.
From:
Stuttgart, Hohenheimer Straße 50A (which is approximate, closest address to the public transport stop)
To:
Stuttgart, Weberstraße 3
- Tell us your expected routing, and how OsmAnd routes.
OSRM routing is what I expected, see:
Instead, the in-app routing would have sent me the way you can see in the attached screenshots.
I suspect, that it's avoiding stairs, which I can see in the "routing.xml", but I can't find a setting for stairs anywhere to test this assupmtion.
Am I looking in the wrong places or is there no such option in the app?
When i toggle "elevation data" the route gets a little shorter, but it's still longer than necessary.
I've had lots of trouble with the pedestrian in-app routing sending me on unneccessary detours, and I don't understand the decisions the routing made for me.
Is there a debug mode of some sort to get an insight into the routing decisions within the app?
Also: the question template for routing debugging hints at the possibility of using OSRM for routing.
I didn't know that this is an option, where is that configured?
best regards,
-1
PS: I really like OsmAnd, even for its bugs :D Thank you!
