Obviously it's impossible to answer that until any "Android successor"
OS is actually released from them, but I'd be surprised if some level of
Android compatibility wasn't included. Other phone OSes have supported
Android apps (if not officially full Google Play support) so I'd expect
that Huawei's next OS would too. Usually where non-Google OSes do offer
non-Google Android support it's possible to unofficially add Google Play
support too (think Android Fire phone, BB10 devices, etc.).
More immediately relevant for most apps for Huawei users would be
non-Play Store distribution - in some circumstances Huawei already
appear to be intercepting play store requests (see e.g.
https://github.com/labexp/osmtracker-android/issues/220 and
https://huaweimobileservices.com/appgallery/ ). However OsmAnd's
already available on f-droid, so it's already not restricted to
Google-enabled Android devices, so that isn't an issue here.
