Saving and exporting heart rate data

How do I record and export heart rate data to a file when recording a track? I can add a BTLE heart rate monitor and display HR as I ride/record, but the data is not recorded in the gpx file (while there appear to be fields for cadence/power etc). Besides my understanding is you must use tcx format for export of device data? Specifically I would like to record my track in OSMAnd and then export direct to Strava, or at least manually via a gpx/tcx (including HR data). Thx.

You need to add external sensors data for Trip recoding plugin:

Thank you. I do have the Trip recording plugin and I have selected my HR sensor, data from which is shown while I am riding/recording a track. BUT, HR data is NOT being recorded in the gpx file. I note that here  Trip recording | OsmAnd HR data is the ONLY parameter which is not listed. Is this an omission in the help file, or is it the case that OSMand does not have a parameter set up for sensor HR data when writing a gpx file? (speed,_sensor, cadence, power, temp parameters from extenal sensors are itemised parameters).

Did you select your HR sensor as source for recording in Menu – Settings – Profile – Trip recording – External sensors – Heart rate. if it doesn't help, please export all profile settings and send it to sup...@osmand.net

I ran some more tests and hr data is now being recorded in the gpx file. I can see the data recorded as such:

<extensions>
          <osmand:speed>1.8</osmand:speed>
          <osmand:hr>98</osmand:hr>
        </extensions>

(Not sure what is now different because I didn't change anything!). 

BUT, the hr data is not being read/recognised when I manually import the gpx file in to Strava? 

I know this is nothing to do with OSMand, but Strava is the elephant in the room so-to-speak and where millions of us centralise our activities, so it would be good if Strava did recognise external data from OSMand either via manual import (using tcx format?) or -preferably- a direct share/sync link with the OSMand app to Strava.

Hi! 

We investigated the issue, our current implementation is not supported by Strava, we have plans to change how we store data from sensors in GPX, so it should be recognise by Strava and Garmin Bacecamp.

Currently, you can manually replace <osmand:hr>98</osmand:hr> with <heartrate>98</heartrate>, in this case Strava will recognise Heart rate data.
