Is there any option yet to use osmand in an active, but non-navigating mode?

At the moment speed limits or radar warnings are given only when following a route to a predefined location.

But sometimes I'd like to use osmand in an active, but not navigating mode, where I want to see the map where I actually am, how the road ahead will look like, or I want to record where I'm driving.

And in that mode I'd like to also see the current speed limits or to obtain if there is a speed control ahead (assuming that I'm allowed to use that).

Schönen Gruß
Martin

Hi,
This is not inside Osmand, but a separate speed alert app using an always visible overlay.
Have a look at https://github.com/hvdwolf/SpeedAlert.
It uses the same OSM data as OsmAnd when using a database. (but can work without databases).
I wrote it for our Android head units but it also works on my phone.
