Is it possible to put habitat covariates like proportion of forest or distance to road on sigma?

Thanks!

hi Asia,
It is not possible to do that. If you want to model effects on 'sigma' the best way right now is to try the asymmetric space use model ("asu ~ ..") which will allow models for least-cost path detection.  These models can lead to some unintuitive results/interpretation so be careful though.
I'm fairly sure that the secr package does allow covariates on sigma but I'm not exactly sure how those are structured.  Maybe someone listening can offer up advice on this.
regards
andy
