Subject: First Dripsody representation uploaded
Dear all,
A quick update to let you know that I have posted a representation of Dripsody on the OREMA wiki - the first of many I hope. You will find the representation here: http://www.orema.dmu.ac.uk/index.php/Michael_Gatt%27s_Dripsody_Representation<http://www.orema.dmu.ac.uk/index.php/Michael_Gatt's_Dripsody_Representation> on the wiki. There is also a link to the Acousmographe session file if anyone would like to use it as a template to create their own representation, although there is no music contained within the session.
It would be great if you could leave feedback on the representation within the Discussion tab on this page (you will need to be logged into the wiki to be able to do this). The hope is that by giving feedback on the representation I as the creator will be able to review the representation and perhaps create a more concise revision in the future. It is also a place to have a heathy discussion on what works and what doesn't.
Finally, I just wanted to get a sense of who intends to create a representation for this composition. A new composition will be suggested to all participants in the first week of May, so ideally it would be best to create a representation before then. However, this does not mean you are limited to this time period and are welcome to create a representation for a previously suggested piece anytime you want. If you are going to create a representation for Dripsody could you please get in contact with me ASAP.
Best wishes,
Mike

I think it would be best to create a how to guide for uploading a representation. After talking to some of my colleagues I've come to realise that the wiki is not as intuitive as I once thought. Most of the procedures have become second nature to me. I shall therefore create a step-by-step process of how to upload a representation and link it in a subsequent email for everyone.
Thanks once again,
Mike
Dear all,
Unfortunately OREMA was hacked as Simon says. We are looking into possible solutions now.
I have backups of the content on the website, so I can send any information to anyone who is interested.
Becky: I'm not in the country at the moment, but I will send you the dripsody analysis when I return.
Best wishes,
Michael
Sadly, there is no funding for the project anymore. I have spoken with our computer services department which is investigating fixes for the site but that would only be temporary and we have no one administering it anymore, I’m afraid. Therefore, we are not in the ideal position of fully reviving it without that IT support as Wordpress needs frequent updates added.
Best wishes,

There is not much for me to say, Alessandro. Michael Gatt was lead on this project and left the university many years ago upon completion of his doctorate. Since them we’ve kept it alive by volunteering to do updates, but usage did drop. I do not believe he is interested in porting it to his university as he would have done so already leaving us in a situation of a ‘frozen’ site, as you write, with potential to act as a relevant hub but without support or someone administering it.
I have had to take two major sites (EARS site and EARS 2 site) and move them elsewhere to ensure they are kept up to date.
Yours sincerely,
.
