Hi All.

We are considering using Orbeon Forms, i am new on the task, and i am not
permitted yet into the environment, i have a simple question.

What happens when a user has submitted a simple form and pressed the
"submit" button.

is the output a XML file or is it stored in a Database, or some third thing?
i have tried searching the site and cannot find the information, i hope you
can help me :-)

What happens on "submit" is highly configurable. Typically, data is saved to
the database, and users are taken to a page per your configuration. But you
can also, in the backend, have the data sent to a service you provide, and
much more.

Every button at the bottom of your form runs a "process". A process is a
sequence of "actions", and actions are things like "save the data to the
database", "send the user to this page", "send the data to this service",
and more. You can find more about this on:

https://doc.orbeon.com/form-runner/advanced/buttons-and-processes

And of course, just let us know if you can't find something you're looking
for, or anything in the doc isn't quite clear.
