In Karaf 4.3.7 it was possible to change the name of the session cookie with an javax.servlet.ServletContextListener in a Web application bundle that was annotated with @javax.servlet.annotation.WebListener

In Karaf´4.41 and PAX-WEB 8 this is now longer working. Is there any other possibility to set the session cookie name at runtime?

I tried to set the session cookie name in etc/org.ops4j.pax.web.cfg.

I set in this file the property

After clean restart of Karaf the session cookie name is still JSESSIONID.

Is this a bug??

I am running PAX-WEB 8.0.6 in Karaf 4.4.1 with Java 8u342.

I created in PAX-WEB a jira issue for this problem:

Hello

I checked using fresh Karaf 4.4.1 and I confirm there's a problem. Internally the changed configuration (`property-set --pid org.ops4j.pax.web org.ops4j.pax.web.session.cookie.name JSID`) is applied, but my WAR is using old instance of entire Jetty server. Checking.

https://github.com/ops4j/org.ops4j.pax.web/issues/1745 is the place to check for progress.
