Are there available hrm converter into .dat file? I am having trouble finding one. I also tried reading the hrm file but I can't understand the format. I also can't find a detailed documentation about the said matter.

*.dat is not a file format, it is a generic extension used by many programs to mean many different things.

What kind of *.dat file do you want to convert the *.hrm into?  What is your destination program / application?

The *.hrm file format is extremely simple.  What questions do you have about it?  The file is pretty much human readable.

The columns are just x,y,z -- each body is made up of a bunch of points in a cross section.  Every cross section has the same number of points.  Each body starts by telling you how many cross sections and how many points per cross section.

Thank you so much for the reply I managed to figure it out and thanks for verifying it. Also I was actually planning on making it a .dat file (dunno if this is an effecient method) so that I could extract the cross sections of the fuselage by importing the curve formed by those set of points into freecad . Again thank you so much for the reply

You may want to try exporting as a STEP file as a first attempt.
