Hi
While running a stability analysis I noticed that the roll rate, pitch rate and column rate for the run about which the stability analysis is done is mentioned at the start. Where might I look into the change these terms (which file holds these inputs). I checked my vspaero input file and there's no place where these terms are specified.
Thank you

Unfortunately, it is not exposed in any files, so you have to change it in source and recompile.

For a steady run, the deltas are here...

For the unsteady run, I believe it is calculated here...

I neglected to mention...

In the (hopefully near) future, VSPAERO will calculate stability derivatives with an analytical derivative -- so this perturbation will not matter at all.

Slight side question here, is the same true for a single VSP run (not a stability run).  IE, is there a way to specify a roll rate for a single VPSAero run?

Thanks,
Bryan

Yes, but not through the OpenVSP GUI.

VSPAERO has a mode where it will apply a uniform roll rate about the x-axis to the model.  It is a steady solution.  It is meant to be a mode for simple isolated propeller analysis, but would work for the entire airplane if you want.

There are actually some instructions about this mode online...

I haven't tried it in a long time, so I'm not actually 100% sure it still works....
