I am trying to run a panel method for a thin airfoil for validating with some experimental datas. Unfortunately I am not getting expected plots for Cl vs alpha. I have attached the vsp file with this query. I think I am missing some inputs or is it a problem with my geometry orientation, I am not quite sure of it. I would really appreciate If anyone could have a look at it and suggest some changes which will help me to get realistic physical results.

OpenVSP does not work as well with an imported mesh -- it is intended to work with natively generated geometry.

Generate your geometry using a Wing component in OpenVSP and you will have more success.

Thank you Rob , That really helped.
I also have a doubt regarding the abbreviations in results manager. I have attached a screenshot. Could you please reply the full forms of them.

CDi -- inviscid drag component calculated by Biot Savart summation
CDo -- viscous drag component
CDt -- inviscid drag component calculated by wake formulation (Trefftz-like analysis)
CDtot = CDo+CDi
CDtott = CDo+CDt

Just to keep everyone on their toes, in the soon to be released update to OpenVSP and VSPAERO, this will change.

The 'w' subscript will be used for the wake formulation (instead of the t) and there will be more consistency overall...

I was about to ask the same - thanks for the info Rob. I was able to find some info digging the forum, but it took me quite some time. It would be great if the Wiki was updated once you do the release, that's the most obvious place to look for this info; the VSPAERO Tutorial page has something but is clearly outdated.

I know it's quite an effort to keep the reference aligned with the code, it's always the case :-)

Cheers,
Mikel

Sorry, follow up question that I believe fits the previous one: in the Loads panel there is a single cd value. Is this only the vorticity-induced drag, or does it also include some flat-plate-analogy drag like CDo?
