Hello, I am interested in reviewing the downwash distribution results of a delta wing one root chord behind the trailing edge. More specifically, the x,y,z velocity data. Is there a way to extract that data? I've attached a photo showing the plane of interest behind the trailing edge.

Hello,

This is the procedure I use to achieve that:

GET VELOCITY AT SPECIFIED POINTS
1) Open VSP case
2) Configure VSPaero with the desired Alpha/Beta condition (no sweep, just one single point)
3) Save case
4) VSPaero --> Prepare solver --> it generates several files
5) Open the .vspaero file
6) At the bottom of the .vspaero file, include the coordinates of the desired survey points:
NumberofSurveyPoints = n
1 x1 y1 z1
2 x2 y2 z2
3 x3 y3 z3
4 x4 y4 z4
...
n xn yn zn
7) Run VSPaero in the terminal with this prompt C:\OpenVSP-3.46.0-win64\vspaero.exe -omp 16 C:\Users\...\YourCustomPath
8) VSPaero generates a file (.svy) with survey points x,y,z and the velocity u,w,w at each point

Best

Miguel
