GET VELOCITY AT SPECIFIED POINTS |
|||
| 1) Open VSP case | |||
| 2) Configure VSPaero with the desired Alpha/Beta condition (no sweep, just one single point) | |||
| 3) Save case | |||
| 4) VSPaero --> Prepare solver --> it generates several files | |||
| 5) Open the .vspaero file | |||
| 6) At the bottom of the .vspaero file, include the coordinates of the desired survey points: | |||
| NumberofSurveyPoints = n | |||
| 1 x1 y1 z1 | |||
| 2 x2 y2 z2 | |||
| 3 x3 y3 z3 | |||
| 4 x4 y4 z4 | |||
| ... | |||
| n xn yn zn | |||
| 7) Run VSPaero in the terminal with this prompt | C:\OpenVSP-3.46.0-win64\vspaero.exe -omp 16 C:\Users\...\YourCustomPath | ||
| 8) VSPaero generates a file (.svy) with survey points x,y,z and the velocity u,w,w at each point | |||
Hello, I am interested in reviewing the downwash distribution results of a delta wing one root chord behind the trailing edge. More specifically, the x,y,z velocity data. Is there a way to extract that data? I've attached a photo showing the plane of interest behind the trailing edge.
