I'd like to run wpantund and wpanctl on Linux/OSX with nRF52840 Dongle as NCP connected to USB. But I don't know the modifications I should do in wpantund distribution. Any thoughts are welcome.

The following codelab should help with your desired setup: https://codelabs.developers.google.com/codelabs/openthread-hardware/

Hi,
I'm currently trying to do the same project, connect Dongle nrf52840 to a Raspberry as a NCP. Could you describe how you succeed ? I'm not able to flash correctly the Dongle I think and consequently there is no NCP:Version on Raspberry wpanctl status.

Thans in advance

For flashing the nRF52840 Dongle, take a look at "nRF52840 dongle support (PCA10059)" in examples/platforms/nrf52840/README.md.

Hope that helps.

First of all thanks for quick answer,

I've read this readme but when I try to flash nRF52840 with nRF Connect app, I always have a LIBUSB ERROR. I didn't take account of this error but when I connect the dongle to the raspberry and I use

sudo wpanctl status

I got no information about NCP Version, this field is empty. Is the LIBUSB ERROR related to this ? Do you have such error after flashing ? Do you know any fix ?

Thanks a lot !

[Update]

After successfully flashed NCP with external debugger (nRF52840 DK), I can now say that the nRF Connect App is involved in flashing problem. On my side, my problem is solved but I don't understand why it was not possible to use the nRF Connect App to correctly flash NCP software
