Dear all,

Sorry for contacting the OpenROAD group, but I’m hoping someone can help with a question on Ingres Licensing.

We have just been notified that our new licenses for Ingres 11.1 are available.  This is the first time I’ve had to “update” our licenses and have a question over the steps.  I believe the process is as follows:

  • Download new license file from the portal
  • Backup / rename the existing license file on the server
  • Copy new license file to server

I assume that this can all be done without having to restart the Ingres service (we’re running on Windows)?  How can I check that the new license has been picked up?

Many thanks,

Cilicchk.exe

I normally stop and start Ingres for a licence swap but it might work jus swapping the files over.

You will find out soon.

Cheers

Adrian

Adrian,

Thank you for this.  I had a direct reply from Actian and the swap over was dynamic.  Running cilicchk before and after replacing the license file detected the change immediately.
