Regarding Mentoring Projects @ GSOC 2021

Hi OpenRefine Team,

Hope you are doing well in these tough times.

I am dropping this email to the team; in order to express my interest in mentoring project/s of your organization in the upcoming GSOC 2021. Though I have mentored a few hackathons, open source initiatives etc, I really want to hear from the team what would be the good to have skills in order to mentor project/s for your organization ?

Here is a short bio about me :

Ayon has a distinct passion for problem solving using Data Science, ML, AI & loves to wear the cap of a tech speaker passionately. He has had multiple stints in the field of Data Science,AI,ML through various internships & actively contributes to the society by mentoring hackathons, bootcamps. Till date he has delivered close to 40 technical talks at International as well as National Conferences, Meetups and have also mentored 50+ Global & Local hackathons, open source initiatives etc. Alongside this, he is also the organizer of India's First Kaggle Days Meetup in Delhi NCR and has reviewed 3 technical books till date.

Thanks for considering OpenRefine!

However, at this time the team/project has not determined if we will participate in GSOC 2021 at all.  We have to consider many things. (but will consider your interest!)

But regardless of our decision made in the future, we will announce it on the mailing list.

Hi Ayon,

In addition to Thad's reply, I'd like to stress that it is of upmost
importance that a mentor is very familiar with the project they are
mentoring for: you would need to have contributed a significant number
of changes to OpenRefine by the time you start mentoring someone.
