Hi Antonin,

I noticed the following in logs:

07:31:01.007 [..util.DeprecationWarning] Using @Deprecated Class org.eclipse.jetty.servlets.GzipFilter (9ms)
07:31:01.008 [..tty.servlets.GzipFilter] GzipFilter is deprecated. Use GzipHandler (1ms)
07:31:01.021 [...handler.ContextHandler] Started o.e.j.w.WebAppContext@496bc455{OpenRefine,/,file:///E:/GitHubRepos/OpenRefine/main/webapp/,AVAILABLE}{E:\GitHubRepos\OpenRefine\main\webapp} (13ms)
07:31:01.200 [..erver.AbstractConnector] Started ServerConnector@2d554825{HTTP/1.1,[http/1.1]}{127.0.0.1:3333} (179ms)
07:31:01.200 [..pse.jetty.server.Server] Started @5460ms (0ms)
07:31:01.201 [            refine_server] Failed to use jdatapath to detect user data path: resorting to environment variables (1ms)
07:31:01.202 [            refine_server] Failed to use jdatapath to detect user data path: resorting to environment variables (1ms)
07:31:02.000 [                   refine] Starting datamodel runner 'org.openrefine.model.LocalDatamodelRunner' (798ms)
07:31:02.128 [..pache.hadoop.util.Shell] Did not find winutils.exe: {} (128ms)
java.io.FileNotFoundException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: HADOOP_HOME and hadoop.home.dir are unset. -see https://wiki.apache.org/hadoop/WindowsProblems
        at org.apache.hadoop.util.Shell.fileNotFoundException(Shell.java:548)
        at org.apache.hadoop.util.Shell.getHadoopHomeDir(Shell.java:569)
        at org.apache.hadoop.util.Shell.getQualifiedBin(Shell.java:592)

As seen above, It seems it is attempting to look for Hadoop or run its shell even if we have started the LocalDatamodeRunner?

BUG?

Hi Thad,

Thanks a lot for this report and the other ones on GitHub. Yes this particular bug is on my radar, it is this issue:

https://github.com/OpenRefine/OpenRefine/issues/2313

Your bug testing is super valuable and I really want to work on fixing those but I am afraid I will probably not find the time before September. When I find the time to do OpenRefine development at the moment (and it's pretty rare) it goes towards releasing 3.5.

Best,

Antonin
