Hi all,

I just realised that I have not received any TD messages (C and S class) on 12th June 2021, and it is too late so the data is not available on NR ftp server. I need these raw files to fill the gap in the data. Any help would be great, many thanks!!!

Best regards

Xiaocheng

I have a log of the TD messages that I can put into a bunch of CSV files later today, if that’s of any use. Just those from 12th June?

I wasn’t aware that there was an FTP site with the TD data, I thought it was just Darwin that had an FTP download, BICBW of course.

Best wishes,

Martin

Thanks Martin,

I only need one day worth of data. For some reason the receiver was back to normal by itself on 13th June. Thanks.

I’ve exported the data for 12th June from my logs and put it up at https://www.thorpe.org.uk/people/xiaocheng/ — you’ll need bzip2 to decompress the files.

The format for both files should be easy enough to figure out. The log records CB messages with a null to_berth, and CC messages with a null from_berth.

I’ve noticed that around midnight the timestamps on TD messages are sometimes midnight of the previous day, so the first column (in both files) is my internal serial number in my log to maintain ordering. I’ve made sure that entries dated the 11th but which are actually for the 12th are included, and entries dated the 12th but which are actually for the 13th are not included. You’ll notice one or two gaps in the serial number sequence around the start and end — occasionally messages appear out of order. I’m assuming that the timestamp in the message is correct (except where the date is wrong, obviously!)

Hope this helps!

Which FTP server were you looking at to get this data?

Best wishes,

Martin

Great! many thanks. The FTP server is hosted by Network Rail, networkrail.co.uk
