Hello OpenQuake developers,
I have a question about the KuehnEtAl2020 GMMs (KuehnEtAl2020SInter and KuehnEtAl2020SSlab) in OpenQuake. They are marked as experimental=True since their introduction in version 3.12, and this is still the case in recent releases.
Could you explain why these GMMs are still considered experimental? Is this related to implementation limitations or lack of independent verification ?
These GMPEs are used in some recent hazard studies, and I am considering using them in my work, so I would like to better understand how this status should be interpreted.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Best regards,
Aurore
Hi Aurore,
I think that label is a leftover from an earlier version of the Kuehn model, implemented before the paper describing it was published.
The model has verification tables that I think were provided by the authors. Unfortunately, this was not documented.
