Dear all,

I would like to ask for clarification regarding the additional parameters required in the site model within OpenQuake Engine.

I am planning to perform a secondary perils analysis for earthquake-induced landslides using the NowickiJessee2018 model. One of the required additional parameters in the site model is landcover.

My question is:
What landcover classification standard should be used so that it can be properly recognized and read by the OpenQuake Engine?

Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Dear Ridho,

As mentioned in the NowickiJessee paper, the dataset used to develop the model is GlobCover 2009 Land Cover:

Arino, O., Ramos Perez, J. J., Kalogirou, V., Bontemps, S., Defourny, P., & Van Bogaert, E. (2012). Global land cover map for 2009 (GlobCover 2009). © European Space Agency (ESA) & Université catholique de Louvain (UCL), PANGAEA. https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.787668

So you should include in the site model the classification values from this dataset (e.g. 11, 14, 20,...).

Thanks,
Catarina
