Hi Mike,

I evaluated your feeder design, while i was looking for ideas to design a feeder. It has very unique and simple working mechanism. 

I could not  see how the design could work with tapes of  different thickness or how it can adapt to the variation in thickness for same width tape, 

So i did not proceed further

Hi, to answer your question: It could work with different 8mm tape thickness because the belt would take the difference in thickness from 0.2 to 1.2mm or in addition by adjusting the free top wheel (which is used for belt tension) if needed. 

What I do not see in this version of belt feeder is the groove in the feeder body and main wheel for pockets of 8mm tapes ??

This is not my design. I am not that goo :).

This feeder is nice but is is a bit too wide for my requirement.

Seems that the Motor on the opposite side of PCB is sticking out to far ? Can I get a photo from the top please?

I see you are discussing my machine. Ask me anything. My machine is not a OpenPNP machine. But I am sure most of you can adapt my designs without problems.

Hi Florin, 

Feeders look simple and good - just a bit to much space occupation for people that have short PnP ... 

Anyway how reliable are they - any slippage on wheel to tape surface ? some folks had doubt that this could work ?? 

A short video would sort all questions out :-) any chance to see it in the future ?

Slippage does not seem to be a problem with the paper belts. That is what I use it for and I have never tried something else. I did compile a few older clips to a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjPf0_tX79I&ab_channel=ftobler

The spacing between  holes is 4mm, so how do you solve 0402? It can only advance 2mm at a time.

Should be advance once, pick 2 times from 2 locations. Relative to the hole these have fixed coordinates. I don't often place 0402 so I don't have it implemented rn.
