Hi All, new to the group.
Just received the CC1 and having problems moving/jogging the machine. Anyone else have any knowledge of this, so far no response from Pandaplacer.
Thanks
Can actuate the lights, pump/vac.
(I had to disconnect the feeder boards power as the machine wouldn't start)

Hi,
I don't have CC1, but I was wondering if you did homing before trying to move the machine head.

Are you able to connect to the CC1 control board directly?
Can you do any movement at all ?

Regards,
Pierluigi

I am able to connect to the main control board, I had to remove the auto feeder board as this seemed to be non functional - PSU showed 0V with this plugged in (Initially I thought i might need to flash the ICs on the autofeeder but they must be ready to go).
I first tried to home the head and the machine would vibrate, the head is stepping down, but it is already at the lowest point, then it resets (beeps) and i need to reboot the OpenPNP/reset board.

I purchased through the Novolast store on Ali Express and so far have received some notes for vacuum pipe connection but that is all. Do you have a contact there?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm guessing that it's a missing configuration or initialization.
You need to check if the panda placer control board is working.
At this stage, DON'T use openpnp. But from your computer connect via usb to your board.
Panda placer should use Marlin firmware.

Search on google:  "how to connect to marlin via usb"
Send to your control board some basic gcode commands.
For example, try to move along the X axis and see if it works.

Before, I recommend replacing the usb cable with a new one
and double check if the panda place power supply is properly connected.

In any case, don't worry., The panda placer seems easy to replace broken pieces.

Owain,

There is a known issue with some of the feeder control boards. There's some short that it sounds like Leo hasn't been able to find. I had one of my control boards DOA too. That said you should have movement.

Are you on 2.4 and did you copy over all the openpnp config files?
It should work out of the box. There are location issues (every machine will have them of this type of setup). But once you get homing calibrated and redo the whole nozzle change points you can likely do placement.

What is Openpnp saying when you try to jog?

Im new to this as well and it also took me several goes to get the head moving and the cameras setup right.
I think i deleted the .openpnp2 folder and tried again with the supplied config files. Several reboots later etc seemed to get it going. I did have to click the start machine button and home before i could start jogging the gantry about. I gave up on my macbook. The usb seemed to work to start with, then i couldnt get them detecting. Windows seemed to have an easier time with that, but it took longer to try and find the right gcode driver.

David.

Good to know I've been struggling with my MacBook and suspected I'd need to get a cheap Linux laptop to work with for this.

I am not a Mac guy but I am pretty sure I read somewhere in the docs that if you are using Mac you should use the latest (test) OpenPnP version, which suggests OpenPnP is a work in process on the Mac.
