For a job with about 40-ish different parts, I added that many strip feeders on the bed and tried to configure the bottom vision pipeline.
Each part has its own pipeline, that is initialized from a default pipeline (located in Machine Setup - Vision - Bottm Vision).
For 40 parts, it is not easy to set each pipeline correctly, but all resistors are likely to be the same, SOT23 etc.
I admit that I overlooked that part of setting up the job, and that did not go well :)

Would it make sense to have the pipelines linked to the Packages?
The only way that I have found so far to have all the resistors handled properly is to make the same pipeline modifications for each part. Am I missing the "oh that's so much easy" way of doing it?
Also, having defaultS pipelines to easily recall when needed would be just superb :)

Thanks

Hi Romain,

This is definitely an area that needs improvement. I think I've discussed this before, but I can't find the thread, so I'll make it quick:

* Pipelines should be global and should be selectable from a list for most operations. Most people probably only need 3-6 pipelines total for their machine, not one for every part.
* I considered making pipelines apply to packages, but I picked parts instead because sometimes parts with the same package differ in color.
* You can easily copy / paste pipelines by using the Copy and Paste icons in the pipeline editor. This at least makes it easier to copy it across multiple parts.
* You can also setup the default pipeline for bottom vision in Machine Setup -> Vision -> Reference Bottom Vision. Set this up so it works for most of your parts and then just go to a part and Reset to Default. This will copy the default in and then you can tweak if needed.
