Regarding Outreachy Internship 2018

Hello!

My name is Shristy Kapoor and I am an undergraduate student from India. I learnt about the OpenLMIS community through the Outreachy Internship website and I would like to work with the community for the same. Could someone please guide me on how to get started for this?

The Outreachy process is usually that people look at the available Outreachy projects here:

https://www.outreachy.org/2018-may-august/communities/openlmis/

…AND also consider one simple contribution you can make during the application process so that you are eligible to be accepted as an Outreachy intern. In our Jira issue tracker we have “QuickWin” items tagged using that Label that you can search for. So that’s a place to look for a first task to take on.

 

The Outreachy page has information about where to ask questions, but Slack is recommended (#gsoc and #help channels) as well as joining this email forum. Use those channels to let us know if you have any questions along the way! Thanks and WELCOME!

Hello!

Thank you for the document you linked in your answer! That helped me a lot. However, I am unable to join the Slack channel. Where am I supposed to log in to the openlmis.org account that Slack asks me to create? Alternatively, could you please send me an invite link?

Hi Shristy,  I have just sent you a manual invite to the OpenLMIS Slack. Feel free to directly email me if you have any problems getting into Slack. Once you’re in Slack, the #gsoc channel is the best place to ask for help. Welcome and thanks for your interest!!
