GSOC2017: Prospective Contributor to Improve the Framework for CNNs for 2D detection

Hello Everyone,

I am Namrata Deka, currently a computer science undergraduate enrolled in a 5-year Bachelors+Masters program at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT-D). I am pursuing research that involves Computer Vision and Machine Learning (deep inverse reinforcement learning to be specific) which means I am quite familiar with deep networks, CNNs, and the latest developments in this field. I am proficient in Python, Matlab, C++ and have worked with deep libraries and frameworks like Theano, Lasagna, TensorFlow etc. I am a quick learner and will be able to familiarize myself with Caffe easily.

My research involves both 2D and 3D detection and tracking as precursors to the deep IRL processing which has peaked my interest to contribute to Open Detection using state-of-the-art network architectures. Courtesy to past internships I know my way around Git and will be comfortable working on open source projects.

I would love to spend my summer working with you and explore the prospects of becoming a long-term contributor to Open Detection.

It would be great if you can go ahead and install the library run the examples and try to come up with some small code development showcasing your skills for this idea.
