OpenCog installation error

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to install OpenCog on my Ubuntu PC and receiving the following error when trying to run command : cmake ..

-- Build type: Release CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:58 (FIND_PACKAGE): find_package called with invalid argument "CONFIG" CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:64 (MESSAGE): CogUtil missing: it is needed for everything!

Please find other details below:

OS: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

I am following installation guide mentioned here: https://wiki.opencog.org/w/Building_OpenCog_(Hands_On)

Things I have further tried:

Kindly help me out with this.

Let me know if any further information/debugging will be needed.

It may be due to failure of the above. Please suggest any workaround/solution.

Ubuntu 12.04 is too old, and unsupported. Even 14.04 is almost too old, and causes problems. You really need to get something newer.

Canonical stopped supporting 12.04 two and a half years ago. It will stop supporting 14.04 this spring, on it's 5-year anniversary. End of an era...
