I can connect to the server.exe example as part of the Win64 package with UaExpert.

However the generic client from Softing fails to connect. Error message is:
  ERROR - Server did not return an EndpointDescription that matched the one used to create the secure channel.

When trying to connect the UnifiedAutomation C++ SDK client console example, it also fails in making a connection.
  Error: UaSession::connect failed [ret=BadUserAccessDenied]
Rebuilding a server app with usernamepassword flag disabled (so only anonymous) gives:
  Error: UaSession::connect failed [ret=BadIdentityTokenInvalid]

Any clue?

Thanks, Patrick

Hello Patrick,

I will try to reproduce the errors you see.
There's a ticket in our bugtracker now: https://github.com/acplt/open62541/issues/249

Are you connecting from localhost or over the network?
We automatically put the server's hostname into the endpointdescription.
The Softing error looks like the client expects "opc.tcp://localhost:16664" in the endpointdescription, but finds "opc.tcp://<hostname>:16664" instead.

Best regards
Julius

Hi Patrick,

Julius has fixed the softing issue in the master, please check if its okay for you now.

Regarding UA C++ client, it turns out that it only can connect to server using username/password. I was successful to connect and read a value and browse using the following config (ClientConfig.ini in the folder of the client):

[UaClientConfig]
DiscoveryURL =opc.tcp://localhost:48010
ServerUrl    =opc.tcp://localhost:16664
