Orientation Event Planning

Hello everyone,

As per our last meetup on Apr 22, 2023, we had discussed on doing orientation events throughout the Colleges of Nepal so let's plan about that, how should we proceed? Let's plan and do things one at a time ;)

Hi, 

Kathmandu University Open Source Community(KUOSC) has planned the orientation event for May 11 ( Thursday ) and May 12 ( Friday ). For the first day, we have planned sessions on FOSS, OSM and OSM hackfest. And, for the second day we have planned a workshop on mapping. For day 2, we are also planning a success story sharing session where a startup, using OSM in their product, will share their success story.

Hello everyone

Rishi and I planned to do OSM, Open Tech, and Open Source also OSMHackfest Orientation Session at NCIT on Sunday, May 14-2023, at 2 PM Onwards. For this, we need a speaker on Open Tech, if anybody is interested or is best fit then do let us know!

Also, we are planning to do orientation events in multiple colleges thus let's organize event by collaborating with multiple clubs & communities, till now we have OSAC - Asand NOSK so if you want to collaborate and work together to make the event happen in various colleges then do reply to this email with the name, and college of your community.

Thank you bibek dai for bringing this up. 

Also I'll request everyone in this group to come forward if you want to do sessions of the same kind in your college. These sessions will also be pre-events of a city level hackfest(a hackfest before nationwide hackfest and ultimately regional hackfest), that is going to be conducted by OSAC, supported by Open Mapping Hub-Asia Pacific and Open Tech Community.

We ,KUOSC, have finalized the list of speakers for the Open Tech Meetup and OSM Mapping Workshop happening at Kathmandu University on 11th and 12th May. 

The lineup of speakers is as follows:

1. Mr. Arjun Gautam, Community Lead of Open Tech Community, Nepal.

2. Mr. Saurav Bhattarai, CTO of Baato App , Nepal.

3. Mr. Krishna Lodha, an open source GIS Developer from India.
