Another question...I have a Paramount MX+ mount from Software Bisque.  When I tried to connect with it using PHD2 (I selected a SkyX controlled mount), I get the message that it cannot communicate with a pulse-guide mount.

Does this mean that I cannot use PHD2 with a Paramount mount?

Thank you.

Kevin,

I think I recall seeing somewhere that you have to explicitly enable pulse guiding in the ASCOM driver.  You should be able to get to the ASCOM driver setup by clicking the Mount Setup button next to the connect button in the Connect Equipment window.

Thanks Andy.  I will give that a try.

I am using it nicely with an ME. I use Generic Hub (ASCOM) for the mount in PhD and then select "TheSky" (aka TheSkyControlled Telescope) in the ASCOM Hub setup.  You must, of course, have the ASCOM "TheSky Controlled Telescope" mount driver installed and "CanGetPierside" enabled in TheSky Controlled Telescope. You can check and/or correct that using the ASCOM profile explorer (see attached).

Hi Bill,I know you posted this years ago ! I saw your post and I thought you have some recommendation!   I have Paramount ME, SkyX pro and it was working well with PHD for guiding(windows 7 pro). I changed the windows to 10 pro and PHD2 but never I was able to fix the issue! I downloaded the ASCOM telescope drive for the Sky and .... once I try to connect the mount on PHD@ , it say " Mount does not support the required PulsGuide interface!  Any suggestion?

Thank you,

Saied

You may have forgotten to restore these settings:

Good luck,

The driver (ASCOM for TheSky) has a bad habit of unchecking "use directguide" all on it's own. I would check that first and be sure it is checked. That is the most common cause.
