Had a strange problem just now, which I’ve never seen. I figured it out, but I was just wondering why this happened.

I set everything up like always, went to the Drift Alignment, scope slewed where it needed to be for the calibration, then click the Guide button, started to do the West Calibration but the star was not moving, it stayed in the crosshairs…

Rebooted the computers, I do remote now with a Mini PC…That didn’t help, checked all the cables, restarted PHD2, nothing. Ended up shutting everything down cold and restarted everything and that woke it up.

What would cause this, I’m assuming just the software acting stupid for whatever reason.

Thanks!  Rod

Hi Rod

Very little for the experts to go on.
First, the instructions on the Home Page "How to ask for help with PHD2".
That will give them the GuideLog and DebugLog.
Then what mount ?

Sorry Mike, it's been about three years since I've had any issue, haha. I seem to remember I can copy the PHD2 Logs and send those, It's a Losmandy G11 Mount. I'll see if I can get those Logs to you,

Thank!

Rod

Hey Mike, I've got the files here, but the Debug is too large to send via email 14.5mb...

I can send the Guiding logs if that's enough. Just let me know.

Problem was the Calibration star used was not moving. It was stuck on the crosshairs when it tried to go West. I ended up shutting down everything and restarting, then it worked. I was just curious what caused it, so I would know. Logs are attached...

I could not upload the logs using the conventional method, as the instruction says. Kept getting an error saying, "Connection Failed" So I'm sending via Google drive. Not quite sure how this works, so let me know if you get it...

"PHD2 was unable to upload the log files. The service may be temporarily unavailable. You can try again later or you can try another file sharing service such as Dropbox or Google Drive."

Thanks,

Rod

See the instructions on Getting Help that Mike referenced.  It allows you to upload both log files tot he pHD2 server very quickly.  No size limit.  No need to find the logs.  The uplaoder does it all.

Yeah, I tried that Bryan, but kept getting this error in Bold black below....

I'm using a remote mini PC, I wonder if that's why. I was doing the upload from the main PC trying to pull the logs from the Mini PC. Before, I was hard wired to everything so I had no problem uploading those. Been a few years though.

"PHD2 was unable to upload the log files. The service may be temporarily unavailable. You can try again later or you can try another file sharing service such as Dropbox or Google Drive."

Well if it cannot be done, I won't worry about it now. I have a separate monitor for that Mini which I can connect directly, but the scope is outside still. I'll try doing this another day when I can get you the files the proper way. I don't want to create a mess here.

Thanks,

Rod
