The initial PHD2 set-up screen says that at minimum PHD2 needs to know what guide camera I'm using and what mount interface is being used.
I am using Celestron's StarSense Autoguider (SSAG) but it is not listed under PHD2's camera selection. Neither is my Canon EOS camera.
How do I begin to set-up PHD2 when neither of my cameras are listed under PHD2's camera selection?
Also, what does 'Mount Interface' refer to and what interface should I select?

Thank you.

It sounds like you are missing your camera and mount drivers.  You are definitely not going to be guiding with a Canon EOS camera.

Here's a place to start in the documentation:

Thanks, Brian. I read all that already, but I'm still lost.

I can control my Camera and Mount from my PC through Celestron’s CPWI software, but are you saying I need camera and mount drivers for PHD2 to use?  Is the Celestron StarSense Autoguider a guide camera?  Can PHD2 use it as the guide camera?  A friend of mine says PHD2 can’t use it as a guide camera since it is not listed in PHD2 as a supported camera. (But it does do guiding just fine all by itself.)

What does ‘Mount Interface’ refer to?  Does it refer to the interface PHD2 will use or to the interface between my mount and my PC?

Hi Tyler

It sounds like you are just getting started with CPWI?

Based on your setup description, i don't think your system will work with PHD2. The starsense autoguider is really a standalone autoguider, it does not work with PHD2.

CPWI does not provide support for PHD2 connections. So you are basically bought in to a proprietary Celestron setup. It's possible to undo this but you would need a guide camera that can be controlled via ASCOM

You may want to verify this with Celestron as well. I'm not a CPWI expert.

Thanks for the info. (It always feels like I'm just getting started).
