I have a qhy5iii200m. If I select "QHY Camera" in the Connect Equipment dialog, the camera selector reports "No camera found". I can successfully connect to it by selecting "QHYCCD-Cameras-Capture (ASCOM)" but when I do this the frame rate is very slow, about 2fps at best no matter how fast I set the exposure. I can connect to this camera in sharpcap without ascom and it reports the framerate as being as specified by qhy for the resolution, depth, exposure settings. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should try?

What is your use case for a frame rate higher then 0.5 s exposure for a guide camera?

I'm new to guiding so I'm not sure what the best speed to use is. It just seems like something is wrong if I select an exposure of 0.01s and get ~2fps. Not being able to connect the camera directly also seemed like there was a problem given there was an entry for "QHY Camera" in the dropdown.

Will you want to use the camera interface ie ascom and more like 2-3 sec exposures to start

Not the video interface

You should update to the 2.6.11dev6 release of PHD2 and be sure you are running the latest QHY drivers.  Then take a look at the best practices document - for example, start by using 2-second guide cam exposures.
