Hi everyone,

I'm running a remote observatory setup using NINA for imaging and PHD2 for guiding. My main camera is a ZWO ASI2600MC PRO, and the guide camera is a ZWO ASI120 Mini.

Each camera works flawlessly when used independently:

  • ASI2600 connects and captures images in NINA without issues.
  • ASI120 Mini connects and guides properly in PHD2.

However, when I try to run both cameras simultaneously—ASI2600 in NINA and ASI120 Mini in PHD2—I encounter the following problems:

  • NINA throws a ZWO driver error for the ASI2600.
  • PHD2 loses connection with the ASI120 Mini.
  • When stop looping in PHD2 main camera runs again.

I’ve verified that:

  • Both cameras are running the latest firmware.
  • I'm using the latest ASCOM and ZWO drivers.
  • USB connections are stable and tested.
  • Each camera is assigned correctly in its respective software.

This issue only occurs when both cameras are active at the same time. Has anyone experienced similar conflicts between ASI cameras in dual-software setups? Could this be a USB bandwidth issue, driver conflict, or something related to ASCOM camera naming?

Any suggestions or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. I can provide logs from both NINA and PHD2 if needed.

Thanks in advance!

Luisfer

Your USB rate in NINA is set to what value?

WHile we are waiting for your logs

This sounds to me an awful lot like PHD is connecting to the main camera as well.

I don't know if you are running this fully automated via NINA only, or you are checking to see which camera PHD connects to, but it has the hallmarks of this problem

You can also try using ZWO native driver in PHD instead of ascom

It seems that both programs are connecting to the main camera. For some reason, PHD2 doesn't detect the guide camera. In the multi-camera selection, only the ASI2600 appears. I’ve replaced the guide camera with one from a different manufacturer, and the ASI still shows up—so I assume it’s the 2600.
