OpaVote Users and Developers,
I worked with FairVote to put together his guide to using ranked choice voting to endorse candidates, and it includes instructions for using OpaVote to help automate the process:
As some of you know, endorsement votes are a bit special, because you typically want to allow for no endorsement to occur, and it's common to use a supermajority threshold for endorsement, too, both of which introduces some nuances into the standard RCV process. It's also common for organizations to endorse multiple candidates, which is an extra challenge that is covered in the guide.
For OpaVote developers, the guide may show a path to resolving a long-standing feature request for none-of-the-above/no-endorsement support. It shows how that feature can be supported in effect without an explicit NOTA option on the ballot. Instead, it only requires a slightly different visualization of the ballot and one additional round of tabulation.
I hope you find it useful!
