Screen time out issue

Hello,

I used OpaVote for the first time yesterday. The screen timed out during the two-hour vote process. The screen had to be refreshed in order to allow the voter to vote. How long do voters have to submit their vote before the screen times out?

Hi Ray,

Do you mean the screen on your computer or tablet was turning off? That's not something that we control in the OpaVote app, but a setting on your device.

Hi Ana,

I mean that the poll showed an error when people voted saying that the page needed to be refreshed. I am going to encourage voters to prepare their votes before opening the poll. They had kept the poll open for two hours before submitting it.

Ah, I see what you mean. The ballot form will "expire" after one hour and require a reload if the ballot is not submitted in that amount of time.

Ana, does this mean that voters have to start again, or do they return to where they are? We have an STV vote with 15 candidates, if someone has ranked, say, the first 8 candidates when they reload what do they see?

If the ballot page is reloaded, then the ballot will be cleared out and all the choices need to be entered again.
