If a voter has not yet voted in an ongoing election (as the manager of the election can tell based upon the voting status of that voter's email address), can the election manager DELETE the unused email address for that voter during the pendency of the ongoing election? I know that the manager can add a new email address for the voter, but can the manager delete the original, unused one?

This might occur if a voter tells the election manager that they have not received the voting email at the email address that was used for the election, the election manger confirms that the email address has not been used for voting, and the voter gives a different email address to the election manager to send the voting message to.

The reason why the election manager might want to delete the old email address for the voter is to make sure, when an updated email address is added for that voter, that there is not a double vote by that voter using both the new and original email addresses

To further clarify my query:

During the pendency of an ongoing election, can the election manager cancel a voting link that was already sent to a voter email address but which has not yet been used for voting?

This scenario would be relevant if a voter contacted the election manager saying that they did not receive the voting link and asking the election manager to send it to a different email address instead.

I know that the election manager would be able to confirm that the original email address to which the voting link was sent was not yet used for voting.

I also know that the election manager could add a new email address for the voter to receive a voting link.

But could the election cancel the still-unused link that was previously sent to the original email address in order to guarantee that there would not be a double vote if the election manager wanted to send a new voting link to a new email address for the voter?

Hi Daniel,

Yes, you can disable a voter which is the same as disabling a voting link.  See our docs for details.

You cannot delete a voter or change the email address of a voter.
