[ANN] Ontop 5.0.0 is out

We are pleased to announce that Ontop 5.0.0 is out! New Docker image for ARM and x64, support for Snowflake and MariaDB, mapping augmentation through SPARQL rules, better handling of some generic SPARQL queries and more!

For those using the Maven modules, please observe that Ontop now requires Java 11 or more, and has been migrated to RDF4J 4.1.0. We also stopped publishing some modules including ontop-owlapi.

Hi Benjiamin nice work!

Is there (or will be) any docker image of the CLI too?
I mean: an official docker image containing everything someone usually find on the zip?
I am usually using the zip and build my own, but having an official one will help who wants to build using docker stage for example.

We have anticipated your question :)

This is already mentioned in the release note:

The Docker image (opens new window)now also supported the ARM64 architecture and allows to run all the CLI commands #532

The official docker image has been renamed to ontop/ontop to reflect this change. Check https://hub.docker.com/r/ontop/ontop for details.

Oh sorry!

I was indeed searching how to reproduce the cli commands (in particular: ontop materialize etc) but I didn't find them, I only found the libs on the docker release, under /opt/ontop. I should have made some mistake, then.

I'll check again better from home later, thank you.
