Porter is Closed

Did you guys know Porter TH at Wedekind was closed?  If so, is there a make-up route?

Ulrike and I wanted to do a Porter out and back today from Wedekind camp - nope - closed.  We also drove down to the next gated road (the one I unlock for the race aid station folks each year).  The trail was closed going back up, but we took the trail to the right.  No signs!  We continued for about a ¼ mile and came to a new, dead-end road.  No trail in sight, we walked to the end of the road and didn't see a trail.  Avenza showed us we were on the trail but we didn't see it.  Anyway, I think Porter is NOT ready for a race.

That impacts the Porter Aid station crew and no need to go out and unlock the gate. Please confirm.

Do we plan to do an alternative 9-ish mile (out and back) section?  I could give you some distances on proposed alternatives.

Oh shoot - I totally spaced when you mentioned your plans Thursday. Yes, Jason, Jihan, and I found out at the FOCF trail work meeting Tuesday and Jason was going to plan a reroute….

Porter out and back is ...  8.95 miles

Fuzzy Top out and back is ...  4.52 miles
