Dear Ministers of the Word and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion,
First and foremost, on behalf of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, I express my heartfelt gratitude for your dedicated service. May God, who sees all acts of love and faithfulness, richly reward you.
Just a gentle reminder, though I may sound like a “broken record,” I feel it is important to say again: as ministers, we are all part of the welcoming ministry of the parish. Please make it a priority to arrive at least fifteen (15) minutes before Mass to warmly greet and welcome the faithful as they arrive. After our brief prayer with the presider, kindly continue greeting people until the cantor begins the introduction to the opening hymn.
Only then should you proceed to line up for the entrance procession. As you have noticed, we begin processing after the full first verse and refrain of the song (and at times even after more than one verse). This means there is ample time to position yourselves without rushing.
Thank you for your cooperation and for the spirit of hospitality you bring to our liturgy.
Sincerely in Christ,
Father Marty
