Dear all,

I'm preparing a Word file using the Okapi OpenXML filter.

I get some segments containing some untranslatable strings (or at least not displayed). I had a look at the filter parameters file but I don't see any option that seems relevant or that has any effect.

They look like this:

Text Box 4
Text Box 8
Text Box 10

Is there a way to tweak the filter to avoid extracting those strings?
Thanks in advance.

Other than that, all is good :)

Cheers, Manuel

Hi Manuel,

Without looking at the actual file it's hard to say, but you might try unchecking "Translate Graphic Name" in the Word options.

Thank you, Chase.

I guess you mean the following option, which I had already tried but doesn't do the trick:
bPreferenceTranslateWordExcludeGraphicMetaData.b=false

I have selected and deleted all text in the file, and now the only segment extracted is "Text Box 14". I believe it comes from a box in the header. File attached.

Thanks a lot.
Cheers, Manuel

Hi Manuel,

Actually, I meant
translateWordGraphicName.b=false

I believe this option was new in 1.48.0.

This attached config works for me (extracting no text).

Thanks a lot, Chase.

I can confirm it works on my end too when I create XLIFF in Rainbow 1.48.

However, in fact I'm using the filter as part of the OmegaT plugin, and there it doesn't seem to be working...

I'm using version okapiFiltersForOmegaT-1.15-1.48.0-SNAPSHOT.jar so that parameter should be supported by the plugin as well, right?

I'm not sure where I got that version from, I can see it's not listed here: https://okapiframework.org/binaries/omegat-plugin/

Is there anything else I should check?

Cheers, Manuel
