The 2025 bicycle touring season is drawing to a close. Once again, for many, the Red Flannel Metric Century, based in Oberlin, will be the final cycling event for the year. A 50-year tradition, the Red Flannel is fun and can be challenging, depending upon the weather. We wish them a crisp, sunny, autumn day on their important anniversary.

Whether you participate in the Red Flannel, Little Miami Dirty Dozen, or go out on your own, we hope you have had a wonderful riding season!

November

Saturday, 11/1. 16th LITTLE MIAMI DIRTY DOZEN. Corwin. Ready for an end-of-season challenge? Try this baker’s dozen of the choicest climbs in the Little Miami River Valley. November 1 is All Saints Day, so finish all 13 hills on this 56.7-mile ride and become a saint! A no frills event. Competition is encouraged. But if you’re strong and want to prove your climbing chops, maybe give this very hilly ride a go! www.littlemiamidirtydozen.info/

Sunday, 11/2. 50th RED FLANNEL METRIC CENTURY. Oberlin. The Red Flannel has been an annual end-of-season event for over 50 years. Riders pedal through scenic Lorain, Huron, and Erie Counties for a full metric century (62 miles), or shorter, less hilly rides of 32 and 25 miles. Rest stops are famous for homemade chili, cornbread, and cookies. Entry includes marked route, food, and SAG services. Culminate the season and enjoy the late fall weather on this classic touring event. If you are inspired, wear a red flannel shirt! (We’ve even known someone to ride in a red “Union Suit”!
