Hello All

This is an explainaton for the changed/shifted C.R.U.S.H. invitation for tonight. It was agreed that we had more pressing things to talk about tonight, in gathering at the Malcolm X and Dr Betty Shabazz Education Center, Thursday, September 11th 6:30pm.

With current events around Police Violence and Government, Media, Institutional and Public reaction etc, we felt it'd be negligent,,,, that we'd be missing an important moment of learning and conversation, if we didn't take advantage of the recent experiences of our friends, CRUSH members, who organized #blacklivesmatter Caravans from the North East to Ferguson Mo and the death of Micheal Brown. They will be with us tonight.

What now, whats next? What will we do?

Greetings Everyone,

The Shabazz Center started hosting community conversations (CRUSH-Community for Revitiliation, Unification, and Success in the Hood)  last month for folks in the New York City area to address concerns, to offer ideas and skills, to invent together, to make room for folks to take responsibility for what they're passionate about in their communities.

CRUSH is intended to serve as a space that fills up the sweet spot of the work people are doing within public institutions and organizations that are committed to transforming systems as well as those that are outside these system, in the community, organizing the people toward collective self-determination. For Thursday, September 11th we want to be able to explore with the local contingent of #blacklivesmatters riders their challenges, successes and what we can take away as we organize locally in our own communities around similar issues folks in NYC are facing here as well as nationally.

The event is this Thursday at 6:30pm at the Shabazz Center. For more information on the event and the confirm your attendance through Facebook click here.

***Please feel free to forward to other riders/supports/friends of #blacklivesmatters***
