Dear all,
I have the following information and I would like to create a network

clear all
input firm_ID pers_ID
44006 1
45611 1
45621 1
44006 2
45611 3
45621 3
44006 4
45611 4
45621 5
end

thus, I have a list made up of 3 firms and 5 individuals. It's not the usual edgelist format thus I'm a little bit puzzled on how to use (if possible) the nwexpand command...

thanks

Hi Luciano,

If you are hoping to make an edgelist out of that data, one thing to do might be to download datanet by Cerulli & Zinilli. It's a pretty easy way to get that data into network form; see the following pdf.

The relevant command is "nw2fromedge", which should do what you want.

But you need to update to version 1.4.5 first! I just released it. In version 1.4.4 the "nw2fromedge" command seems to have been under construction and some code is not executed.

Check out the help-file of "nw2fromedge" to learn more about different one-mode projections. The examples work with version 1.4.5.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Thomas
