FormMule stopped sending notifications

My FormMule stopped sending emails this week. It used to send mails automatically upon a new form submission, now it does not even react to Previe and Send All trigger - the circle goes on forever.  I cannot seem to be able to find the issue - can anyone help please?

Did anything change?

What is in the status column?

Try an incognito window in chrome.

Thanks for the note

Nothing changed that I am aware of

Status column is blank, does not work in incognito either

Also, when I go to extension -> FormMule, I first have to open it to see any other actionable options. At opening, it keeps adding a blank New Submitted Form Template. I delete it each time as well as I delete new status columns appearing either at the end of the Form Responses sheet or at the end of the current/proper New Form Submitted sheet.

Can you help me with this?

You might want to try a new destination from the Google Form.  Basically, start over.

I know how to fix this. 

This has happened to me several times. The weird thing is that it stopped happening and hasn't happened for the last few years, until today it happened again.
The problem is that for some reason the first panel that sets the triggers and allows you to select the tab that it will be looking at somehow "forgets" and resets to a generic option. I have learned to always double check which tab is identified on this panel before going any further. Sometimes formmule does not open on this panel. In that case your first clue is that the template name has changed (with the addition of the word "template" appended to the real name) and it has defaulted to "send for all rows". For this reason I never use "send for all rows". That way I know that if I see that, something has gone wrong. Even if I want it to send for all rows, I will choose "Timestamp" and "NOT NULL".  

Solution:
Go to the first panel. (If it doesn't open on the first panel it will give you a "back" button). Choose the correct tab for where you want formmule to look. (This has been enough to fix the problem some of the time.) Go to the second panel and make sure the email template has the correct title. Likely it will have the word "template" appended to the normal template name. Delete the extra "template" word. If you have reopened it muliple times you may have that word appended multiple times. Make sure the send condition is correct and click "save template settings". This should fix it.

In the early days before I figured this out, I would just recreate the form from scratch. Obviously that is not sustainable if you are making a lot of use of formmule. If you do need to do this, you can go to your google drive, right click on the form and click create a copy. Then you will have to create a new spreadsheet and set everything up again.

Hi Guys! 

I am having the same issue however I can not select a template or move on at all. When going to name my template and pick the trigger,  it only gives me my first 3 columns.

Once I hit next it just deletes everything and restarts. I already attempted to start from scratch, I am at a loss.

It worked - it sent mails when prompted. I'll see if it does it automatically when a new form is submitted.

But here is another question - I got this New Form submitted Template (redundant) tab added as a hidden sheet, as well as a new status column at the end of the 'desired' template and the Fom Response sheet - is it better now to keep these or delete them?

For illustration of what I mean, that's what my 'desired' new form submitted template looks like now:

Formmule adds a sheet with the merge information and a column to keep track of the status of the merge.  If you name a merge something different during setup, a new hidden sheet and a new column will be added.

I can't even get the back button to show up. This morning I could see half of the right side scroll bar but now I can't even see that. No new templates being created on this sheet. However, we have another we create a week ago and it is making extra temples. One other sheet is also impacted... (Incognito did not work) Screen Shot 2024-02-08 at 11.49.48 AM.png

Prior to this one, I have made 5 posts. Only three remain and there are two notices that say "Message has been deleted".
I have to assume at this point that I somehow violated a built-in automated blacklist item. Although I can't imagine how. My posts were benign.

I simply was trying to let Kasia know that it is ok to remove the extra tabs and columns that were automatically created. Doing that will not cause any problems.

Looking at a hidden tab causes it to be visible, but you can simply hide it again as well. I'm just glad I could help.

I am having this same issue, and cannot seem to solve it.  I've tried all of the suggestions and just can't get these emails to be sent out.  Now tonight, my newest issue is formMule won't even open, it's just spinning.  Ugh!!!!

From your previous email, it looks like you are using a CNTL-Enter to put a new line in the title of the columns.  

Try creating a new spreadsheet and coping your data to the new spreadsheet.  That should get rid of the spinning wheel.

Try removing the CNTL-Enter from the column titles.

I've removed the Ctrl+Enter from each of the column headers but that didn't solve the problem.  I have also created a new sheet within the same workbook, and ensured that there is just plain text and/or numbers in each of the column headers, but today it just spins when I try to open formMule.  I can't even open formMule.  I had already removed all FM hidden sheets and the send status column yesterday, trying to start fresh, so there isn't anything FM related on the spreadsheet at the moment that I am aware of.

You need to create a complete new spreadsheet to remove all traces of formmule.

Then copy your data to the new spreadsheet.
